Having made mainstream Hollywood hits
like Clear and Present Danger
and The Bone Collector, Australian
Phillip Noyce returned to his homeland

is at the annual picnic, just before
flying to Toronto to show that film
and another one he's completed, The
Quiet American, with Michael Caine.

Author and film buff Salman Rushdie
had such a good time as a guest director
last year he returned for a second helping;
here he is with director David Cronenberg,
who presented his newest thriller, Spider,
with Ralph Fiennes.

French film master Bertrand Tavernier
shares an al fresco dinner on the main
street of town with Michael Moore, who
brought his much-lauded Bowling
